October 20, 2016Martha van BerkelNews

We’ve curated some of the big news surrounding structured data for the week to help you stay on top of changes and news:

Google Will Soon be Splitting their Search Index into Desktop and Mobile Versions

Now, there will be two distinct indexes depending on whether you search from Google’s desktop or mobile platform. This means that instead of extracting information from the desktop version for mobile search results, Google will be able to run its mobile algorithm on “pure” mobile content. The result will be a more accurate search engine results page.

SEO is Not Dead, it’s Just a Shape Shifter

SEO has taken on many forms over the last 5 years. Now more than ever, SEO is changing and we can thank Google for that. As they have update their search algorithm and implemented AI and machine learning, Marketers have to keep on their toes. This article outlines some important new trends in SEO, including semantic search and how search engines assign meaning to keywords.
